The Truth About Why I Do This Work
Before I was a therapist, I used to wake up at 3 AM with my heart racing, mentally replaying conversations I had and what I should have said or rehearsing conversations that hadn't happened yet, carrying the weight of everyone else's emotions while mine stayed buried beneath a perfectly curated smile. I knew all the "right" things to say to others, but couldn't speak kindness to myself. I was excellent at appearing joyful while living in survival mode.
Maybe you know this feeling—being the strong one, the helper, the one who has it all together while secretly wondering when the other shoe will drop. That bone-deep exhaustion that sleep can't fix. The way your body keeps the score even when your mind insists you're "fine."
I named my practice JoyFULL because joy isn't just happiness—it's the radical act of choosing wholeness when everything in you wants to stay small.

I've sat where you're sitting. I've done the work—the ugly crying, the rage journaling, the terrifying vulnerability of admitting I couldn't hold it all anymore. I've learned that healing isn't about becoming someone new; it's about coming home to who you've always been beneath the armor.
This journey you're on? It's holy ground. It's messy and beautiful and harder than anyone warns you about. Some days you'll feel like you're going backwards. Some days you'll discover strength you didn't know existed. Both are vital to healing, wholeness and mastering the art of being a messy human.
I don't just hold space—I hold hope for the moments when you can't hold it yourself.
Because I know what's possible on the other side of this. I know that joy isn't toxic positivity or pretending everything's okay. It's the deep, settled knowing that you're allowed to be human. That your nervous system can learn safety. That your relationships can hold both truth and tenderness. That you can stop abandoning yourself to keep everyone else comfortable.
You don't need another person telling you what you "should" do. You need someone who gets it, who won't judge the coping mechanisms that kept you alive, who celebrates every small victory because they know how much courage each step takes.
This is why I show up every day—because you deserve someone who sees all of you, not just your breaking.
